30% more bookings for Devonport Recycle

A skip bin business on the North Shore, a Wix site bringing in very little, and what changed when it was rebuilt properly.

More skip bin bookings

Same business, same prices, same suburb. The only thing that changed was the website.

The problem

Devonport Recycle had a website that brought in very little. It was built on Wix, and like most template sites it existed without properly being found. People in Devonport needed skip bins, the business was right there, and too many of those bookings were going elsewhere.

That gap between existing and being found is the most common problem I see, and it is rarely the business owner's fault. A template gives you a page. It does not give you the structure Google needs to know what you do and where you do it.

What I did

I rebuilt the site from scratch rather than patching the old one. Untangling someone else's template takes longer than writing clean code, and the result still carries the old structure underneath. The rebuild:

  • Carried across everything worth keeping: the business, its services and its prices.
  • Left the template behind. The new site is custom coded and built to be found, which is what every build here includes.
  • Added online shopping, which the old site never had, hooked up to online payments.

The finished site is live at devonportrecycle.co.nz. It is the same job for any Auckland business, wherever in the city they are.
